General Authority for Land and Dry ports has announced successive reception of exports and imports coming or going towards Egyptian maritime ports through railways lines. The authority has pointed out in its statement to the big role and the numerous privileges of the port in facilitating import and export traffic, where it represents a leap in transport and logistics system; where it participates in preventing containers ‘congestion at maritime ports; through effective rapid Customs procedures that go in accordance with a developed digital data base. Also, the dry port is distinguished by its warehouses, private and public, to store cargo with the existence of added value services, as packing, unloading, compiling foreign products with others, whether local or foreign also, for the sake of re- exporting and also containers’ maintenance and containers reefers examination

Moreover, the port allows for  exported cargo storage in warehouses for the investors benefit, so as to be released on their demand, where they only pay for the cargo Customs, in addition to lightening the burden on maritime ports and saving time and money for the benefit of factories owners and Lessing burden on land roads  that costs greatly to be maintained as result of the heavy traffic of trucks that transport heavy cargo on which, the increase of cargo transport by railways participates in lessening  cargo transport traffic on roads so as to preserve the road network, and reduce operation cost and harmful emissions, and also saves fuel consumed in land transport.
