Suez Canal authority has announced together with MERSAK Group AP Moller in a joint statement start of container vessels’, affiliated to the Group, return to cross the Canal beginning of next December in a step for the complete return.

 This came after bilateral negotiations undergone between lieutenant general / Osama Rabea, head of SC authority and Mr. Vincent Clark the Group CEO, and that resulted in signing a strategic partnership agreement between the two sides in Ismailia governorate, the agreement was signed by Mr. Gamal Abu El Kheir, the authority’s manager and representative and Ms. Rabab Booles operations CEO of MARSEK Group.

  Head of SC authority has assured that this return of vessels represents a return to the ideal route’s correct direction for international supply chain sustainability; being the shortest and fastest and most secure navigational route in linking the East and the West, and explaining this strategic partnership agreement being a fundamental link in joint relationships future between both sides, as it opens new horizons for cooperation in different maritime and logistic fields. And declared that the Peace Summit at Sharm ElSheikh has succeeded in enhancing stability in Red Sea region and Bab Elman dab and introduced for retrieve of navigation traffic in the region and returning it to its natural rates during the coming period, pointing out that the Canal navigational statistics has witnessed many positive indicators during current October and November, with expectations for more improvements during the coming period.

 Also, the Canal since Red Sea crisis has communicated with all navigational lines and enhanced its services’ network and its diversity, in addition to enhancing its fleet with different new maritime units in addition to its adoption of a group of flexible pricing policies that guarantee a reduction of 15% for container vessels of tonnages more than 130 thousand ton.

  On the other hand, from his side Mr. Vincent Clark has described that the Suez Canal is not just an important navigational channel for MERSAK but a strategic partner in East Port Said container terminal, and it is the most suitable  and efficient navigational line for international trade traffic between the East and the West, pointing out to the security challenges that the sea region has witnessed during past two years  and have had its impact on raising transport costs and shipping freights and all world countries have been affected.
