Smart transport, logistics and industry conference and exhibition (Trans MEA 2025 has witnessed an important session that concentrated on Arab republic of Egypt strategy to maximize maritime tourism and yacht tourism and developing its system. The session was headed by maritime transport and logistics sector officials from transport ministry and included both the public and private sectors.
Most outstanding debate points and maritime transport and logistics sector role:
The session, held under the leadership of MTLS and tourism experts, has discussed the national strategy to organize and develop such promising sector and tourism which is considered one of the important aspects that the state gives great importance.
Developing yacht tourism system: the strategy concentrates on facilitating and unifying procedures through single electronic platform under maritime transport and logistics sector management, aiming at reducing time of approvals and licenses issuance required for foreign yachts visits.
The central role of MTLS; the sector take main responsibility in implementing this strategy through developing ports and berths, by raising their efficiency and establishing new marinas in distinguishable location to support reception of yachts.
Also seeking nationalizing yacht industry locally to meet the increasing demand and attracting more yacht tourism.
Egypt is also seeking to link yacht tourism with different tourism experiences and converting the country into a regional center for such type of tourism, with expectations for doubling annual revenues from such sector by the year 2030.
Such efforts come within the framework of the state’s vision to convert Egypt into a global center for trade, maritime transport and logistics and enhancing integration between transport and industry sectors to drive forward sustainable development.
