Within the framework of enhancing mariti cooperation between Egypt and Greece and according to instructions of lieutenant general/ Kamel ElWzair, deputy prime minister and transport and industry minister, the Egyptian delegation represented in Maritime transport and logistics sector together with Pan Marine Co. have met with Mr. Facilies Keklees, Greece maritime transport minister in their visit to Greece on 19-20 January, to assure on support of both governments launch of a cargo and passengers’ regular navigational line (ROPAX) ; applying recommendation of Egyptian Greek joint navigational committee, being one of the most important mechanism prompting maritime cooperation between the two countries.
Moreover, three visits have been made for ports of Batras, Lafreoon and Saloonic, in addition to a virtual meeting with Kafala port to debate Greek ports capabilities to receive the line and the operational opportunities.
This initiative reflects the tight governmental cooperation between Maritime transport and logistics sector and Maritime affaires and Policies ministry and the project aims at enhancing dual trade traffic between Egypt and Greece, reducing transport costs time of cargo crossing and supports passengers’ traffic.
