Vice admiral Eng. Kamel El Wazir, deputy prime minister for industrial development and transport and industry minister, has witnessed contract granting project of establishing a terminal and a logistic region for handling and manufacturing wheat products at Dekheila port on an area of 300 thousand square meter between Alexandria port authority and international alliance that includes Mediterraneo companies for trade, ElSwedy Co. for investment and Maritime Transport holding Co. with investments 450million dollars. The contract was signed on behalf of Alex port authority by admiral/ Ahmed Hawwash, head of the authority, and on behalf of the companies’ alliance Mr. Mohamed Hassan
The minister has assured that such signature comes within the framework of the ministry implementation of a comprehensive plan to develop Egyptian maritime transport system which aims at converting Egypt to a regional center for transport, logistics and transit trade, and accomplishing currently on going giant projects at Alexandria and Dekheila ports and which are expected after which to make out of Great Alex port one of the most important focal points in logistic and maritime transport on the mediterranean and a linkage between Africa continent and Europe and Asia continents.
. On the other hand, El Wazir has also assured that the ministry is keen to activate the role of executive body of General authority for Industrial and Mining projects, to cope with current era requirements hence serving the Egyptian industry.
