Rear Admiral Reda Ahmed Ismail, Head of the Maritime Transport & Logistics Sector, extends his congratulations to all the women working in the maritime transport sector on the occasion of the International Day for Women in Maritime, which falls on May 18 each year. The International Maritime Organization established this day to recognize the vital role of women in the global maritime industry and to empower women in various maritime professions.

Admiral Reda Ismail highlighted the importance of the role women play in all sectors, particularly in maritime transport. He commended the efforts of female employees in various departments of this sector both locally and internationally. He also emphasized the necessity of creating a work environment free of obstacles for women and achieving gender equality in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals for 2030.
