Vice admiral Eng. Kamel ElWazir, transport minister has witnessed the signing of  contract between  Damietta Co. for container terminals in alliance with  ( Hapag Lloyds, Germany Euroget, Italy Contship): which is the alliance operating the container terminal Tahia Misr 1 at Damietta port together with the Modern Engineering Pioneers Co(ElRowad)  for implementing superstructure works  of Tahia Misr1 container terminal superstructure works at Damietta port, where the infra-structure works has been accomplished by 100% ,of capacity reaching  3.5 million TEU and of berths of 1970m length and 18m depth.

 The contract was signed by Mr. Khwan Pablo, head of Alliance Damietta Co. and Eng. Mohamed Mehleb, head of Modern Engineering Pioneers Co (ElRowad).

The minister has assured during the signing activities on the importance of immediate start of the superstructure works of the terminal to be inaugurated in its planned time, pointing at its importance in increasing the container handling capacity at Damietta port with an amount of 3.5 TEU and this comes within the framework of the state plan to transfer Egypt into a regional center for transport, transit trade and logistics.
