Maritime Transport & Logistics Sector aims, since its establishment in the year 1961, at developing and increasing competitiveness of Egyptian maritime transport through fulfilling integration between Egyptian seaports to attract navigational lines and foreign and local investments, and also facilitating trade and converting Egypt into a regional center for trade, transport and logistics.

 Maritime Transport & Logistics Sector, within the framework of political and ministerial instructions, is ongoing continuous upgrading and developing to cope with international criteria in the field of maritime transport in cooperation with all concerned bodies in the field of maritime transport especially the private sector being a main partner in such development process.

According to IMO resolutions in its (46) session the committee obliged the contacting governments to establish a Maritime Single window (MSW) for ports affiliated to contacting governments; where such amendment concerns FAL convention obligatory entrance into force as from January 2024.
