Damietta port authority media center has announced that the port has witnessed during the past twenty four hours a noticeable activity in vessels’ traffic where it has received thirteen vessel whereas eight others departed so that total number of existing vessels is sixty six vessel; which reflects the port’s pivotal role being one of the most important Egyptian ports that supports regional and international trade traffic and provides citizens’ essential needs.

The statement has declared that general cargo export traffic has reached fourteen thousand and hundred eighty eight ton and that containers’ import and export traffic reached twenty nine TEU, whereas transit traffic registered hundred and fifteen TEU, and that grains and yield silos’ stock of wheat for the public sector sixty eight thousand and sixty thousand and five hundred fifty four ton whereas private sector stock has reached twenty seven thousand ton; which guarantee stability of wheat strategic stock that fulfills citizen s’ Food security.

On the other hand, trucks’ traffic , entrance and departure, has registered four thousand four hundred eighty two; which reflects Damietta port infra-structure efficiency and its ability in dealing with different cargo types with high efficiency and hence serves national economy and enhances the port’s status being one of the most important ports supporting export and import traffic in Egypt.
