Egyptian Saudi Arabian technical committee meeting has concluded its works that aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of maritime transport and its follow- up of MOU for maritime linkage to transport passengers in Aqaba bay. The meeting has dealt with debating challenges that confront navigation at the Red Sea and reviewing means of developing procedures of Port State Control on vessels, participating in raising maritime safety efficiency and enhancing international compliance.

The two sides have agreed upon constituting a joint working team to compile challenges that confront navigation at the Red Sea and propose suitable solutions, in addition to constituting another team to follow up the implementation of conventions and signed memorandums in between.

Many of the two countries concerned bodies have participated in the meeting, which was headed by admiral/ Tarek Abdalla Ahmed, head of maritime transport sector with the participation of representatives from transport ministry, Red sea Ports authority, Egyptian authority for navigational safety, besides a number of other concerned entities. On the other hand, Eng. Essam Ben Mohamed ElAmmaary, deputy of KSA maritime transport authority has represented the Saudi side in participation of representatives from Port General authority, borders guards, Neom and national maritime academy.
