Transport ministry has announced implementation percentages of Sukhna port development accomplishment that is ongoing by ElWatania companies, where , this within the framework of president Sisi constructions for the establishment of the containers comprehensive logistic  project” Sukhna/ Alex” to link the Red Sea with the Mediterranean.

Important information about the project:

1.  The project implementation comes  within the framework of president Sisi, president of ARE ,constructions for the development of all Egyptian ports; aiming at converting Egypt into a regional center for  transport logistics and transit trade
2.  Sukhna port is considered one of the main components of main logistic channel “ Sukhna / Dekheila’ within the framework of president Sisi constructions for the establishment of the containers comprehensive logistic  project” Sukhna/ Alex” to link the Red Sea with the Mediterranean.
3. -first of Sukhna project terminals is Hatshison container terminal whose infra-structure works have been accomplished  with 100% followed by its  super structure works that includes the terminal yard, fences and administration buildings.
4.  the port total area reaches 29km2 and development works include establishment of 5 new docks, maritime berth of 18km and depth 18m and also establishment of handling yards of an area 9.2 million m2 and logistic regions of 5.2 km2, an inner network of lengths 17km concrete and railway lines network  of length 30km linked with high speed electric train
5.  the state is keen on converting Sukhna port into a hub port and increasing Egypt transit trade  share in global market, super structure establishment project, managing and operating and exploiting and maintaining and redelivery of Sukhna port container terminal . This comes within the framework of a comprehensive plan to develop and accomplish Sukhna port to become the biggest port on the Red Sea; where it was planned for the port’s location to compete with modern international ports ; to serve international and regional trade traffic.
6.  cooperation with biggest international alliance in the field of  managing and operating navigational lines and international container terminals  and  this comes within a comprehensive plan for transport ministry to make strategic partnerships with great companies for managing and operating international container terminals and navigational lines  for the guarantee of arrival and calling of biggest possible number of international vessels to Egyptian ports and increasing ports ’operation capacity  and enlarging transit trade and this comes within president Sisi constructions to convert Egypt to a regional center for transport, Logistics and transit trade.
