Lieutenant general Eng. Kamel El Wazir, deputy prime minister for industrial development and industry and transport minister has witnessed together with Eng. Karim Badawy, petroleum minister the signing ceremony of the  commitment  contract for building, developing, usage, managing, operating, exploiting, maintaining and re-turn over super structure of a terminal facilitating for gas and liquid bulk at El Dekheila port between Alexandria General Port authority and Alexandria company for Supply Chain .

The minister has assured that the project is considered one of the most important projects achieving the Egyptian state’s vision under the patronage of president Sisi to convert Egypt into a regional center for handling and energy, adding that the project aims at reinforcing localizing petrochemicals industry in Egypt through sustainable securing of petrochemicals companies needs at Alexandria from raw materials; for maximum operation and creating new investment opportunities in the field of Petroleum, gas and petrochemicals. The project is a leap being the first project in the Middle East and south Med; having the ability of receiving liquefied gas and its storage. He also pointed out that investment cost for all project phases reaches 660 million dollars with national capital  100% and with the partnership between the companies( Ecom-Sedbic- Ethydeco-Gasco )all affiliated to petroleum ministry and Maritime Transport holding Co. affiliated to transport ministry; one of the private sector companies.

He also added that the project consists of maritime facilities represented in a berth of length 800m(400m for each side) and draught of more than 20m; hence enabling Alex Co. for Supply Chain from receiving two vessels on the berth at the same time with giant tonnage reaching 250 ton per tonnage.
