L.G.ENG.\ Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, visited, Tuesday, the ship “WADIALMOLOUK vessel owned by the National Shipping Company, one of the Ministry of Transport companies, which has joined the company’s fleet this year.
This comes within the framework of the Ministry of Transport’s implementation of a comprehensive plan to build a strong national Egyptian commercial fleet to transport Egyptian trade, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to restore the might of the Egyptian commercial fleet and make optimal use of Egypt’s strategic location on the Red and Mediterranean seas and on global shipping lines map.
“WADIALMOLOUK” Vessel It is scheduled to put up the Egyptian flag on the ship during the presidential inauguration of the terminal, which is a modern dry bulk ship of the CAMSERMAX Model, with a tonnage of 82,300 DWT, length of 229 meters and width of 32 meters, becoming the newest and largest ship of the Egyptian merchant fleet.
The ship conforms to all requirements of local and international supervisory bodies and commercial operation requisites, in order to support the national fleet with state-of-the-art Vessels that are in line with current and future market needs.
This comes noting that the ship is equipped with the latest modern high-tech technologies in terms of machines, generators, and advanced navigational devices. A contract has been signed to purchase the ship from the largest international ship owner, NORDEN Company, which globally owns and operates more than 500 vessels. This step is the first precedent of its kind to enhance the national fleet with a state-of-the-art vessel. After adding the new ship to the national commercial fleet owned by the National Navigation Company (S.A.E.), the total tonnage of the fleet, which consists of 13 Egyptian vessels, becomes more than one million tons deadweight.
