Transport ministry has published modern aerial photos for the project of Tahia Misr2 multipurpose terminal that is currently established on berth100 at Dekheila, and which is considered one of the giant national projects that aims at enhancing Egypt capabilities in the field of international trade and logistic services.

The project is established on an area of about 840 thousand square meter and includes the establishment of an international container terminal with advanced technologies on a berth of length 1200m ( of total length of “berth 100” which is of length 1680m) and of depth reaching 18m, and has ability to receive giant vessels of length up to 400m and of capacity reaching 24 thousand container.

The terminal’s capacity reaches about 1.5 million TEU annually, where the biggest part of which is for transit containers, hence enhances Dekheila port location being a hub center on the Mediterranean in such type of international trade.

Also expected that the project provides with more than 2000 job opportunity; direct and indirect, and also represents an important step in implementing Sukhna – Alex containers comprehensive logistic project which links between the two seas; Red Sea and the Mediterranean

A contract has been signed for the establishment of super structure , managing, operating, exploiting, maintenance and turnover of the container terminal with international “ MSC Hutchison ”  alliance   in partnership with Alex General Port authority.
