Damietta port media center has issued a statistical statement showing handling and navigational traffic during past 24 hours; which declared that the port has received 9 departed vessels, whereas 6 others also departed so that total vessels existing currently at the port is 29 vessel with complete regularity in stevedoring works.
It also declared that export and import traffic is; exports 39 thousand ton and imports 72 thousand ton; the port has witnessed enormous activity in general cargo traffic, where export traffic reached 39075ton whereas import traffic is 72012ton.
The statement has also declared that grains and yield silos stock at port for public sector is 51971 wheat ton whereas private sector stock is 32236 ton. Moreover, it showed that 3 trains of total tonnage 3764 wheat ton have departed towars Tanta and Kalubeya siloes, simultaneously with registering 3108 trucks traffic; entrance and departure.
In terms of international connection, the vessel (OLYMPOS SEAWAYS) affiliated to the RORO navigational line has departed towards Italian Triesta port; and the vessel has handled 3595 cargo ton. Such Egyptian exports has been directed to 10 European countries ( Italy, Holland, Germany, UK, Czech, Spain, Poland, Slovakia, France, Slovenia). Hence, enhancing Damietta port status as a main gate for Egyptian exports to global market.
