Damietta port continues assuring its status being one of most important arteries of Egyptian economy, where the port has witnessed during past 24 hours an intensive activity by receiving 17 vessels and other of same number have departed; so that total berthing vessels is 30vessel amongst which the giant liquefied gas tanker VIVIT AMERICAS LNG that flies Malta flag and of length 292m, width 46m, and that has already started stevedoring a giant shipment reaching 64577 ton of liquefied gas after berthing at the floating gas supply unit ENERGOS WINTER; to transport the shipment through UGDC Co. berths, and this reflects the port’s importance in energy safety support and enhancing Egypt’s capabilities in liquefied natural gas field.
The statement has also declared that general cargo export traffic reached 35135ton , in addition to a noticeable activity in containers’ traffic; where 192 TEU have been exported and other 619 TEU received and 3618 transit container have crossed.
Moreover, grains and yields silos for private sector is 58384wheat ton for this year against 32855 ton in Private sector warehouses, and a train with 1309 wheat ton has departed towards Shobra silos, on the other hand trucks’ traffic, entrance and departure, has registered 5808 traffic which reflects the port’s activeness and vital role in securing the citizens’ food stuff needs and its role in supporting industry and trade traffic all over the republic.
