Alex port authority has announced receiving the giant container vessel CMA CGM ZEPHYR after its crossing the Suez Canal amongst its voyage to the port.
This giant vessel is considered one of the biggest container vessels in the world, where it is distinguished by a length of 366m, width 51m, draught 53feet and of total tonnage reaching 164 thousand ton, in addition to capacity reaching about 11.800 TEU, hence reflecting increasingly international trust in Egyptian ports capability to receive modern generation of giant container vessels.
The authority has undergone all towage and pilotage procedures in accordance with maritime security criteria and with distinguished operational efficiency until the vessel berthed successfully on berth 27. The reception process shows the port’s modern infra-structure ability; including depths of navigational channels, berths, developed towage and pilotage means.
Alex port authority assures its continuity in developing its operational capabilities and scaling partnership with international navigational lines , thus supporting the state’s targets in reinforcing and raising the efficiency and attracting more investments and services of added value to the port.
