Admiral/ Tarek Abdallah, head of Maritime Transport & Logistics Sector has participated in a workshop concerning the role of logistics in supporting exports, this in the outstanding international exhibition of agricultural crops “Food Africa”. Also, a number of famous personalities in the maritime transport field and logistic companies have participated, with a distinguishable management of the workshop from the Agricultural crops Export Council, where the feedback on multipurpose transport system development and the leap in Egyptian maritime transport in serving supporting and increasing Egyptian exports system have been debated. Also has been debated is the role of transport ministry in supporting the private sector and encouraging international navigational lines to get rapid regular lines to reach European countries, and also mentioned is the project recently launched by transport ministry (the project of Egyptian Italian ro-ro line) which has participated in Egyptian agricultural crops arrival to Italy within 2 days only. Furthermore, “Gemini’ service in cooperation with Maersk and Hapag Lloyds has been presented where the role of logistics has been highlighted in supporting trade especially from the instability in the region and its impact on international trade traffic.
