The Cabinet media center has posted a video on its social media platforms showing reality of granting Suez Canal navigational channel to Abu Dhabi Ports (ADPORTS) with right of usufruct for 50 years, this after announcement of signing an agreement for the development of an industrial region between SCEZ and ADPORTS.

 The video has shown that the signed agreement is between Suez Canal Economic Zone and Abu Dhabi Ports Group (ADPORTS) and it falls within the competence of SCEZ and has nothing to do with Suez Canal navigational channel, that is under management and sovereignty of Suez Canal authority, and not SCEZ; as they  are two separate authorities.

 Cabinet media center has also assured that the agreement has no relation in any way with Egyptian sovereignty over Suez Canal and its property, stressing that the canal is protected by the Egyptian constitution  as stated in article 43 that shows that the state is committed  to protect Suez Canal, preserve and develop it being an international water channel  owned by it and is committed to developing the canal sector as it is considered a distinguished economic center.
