The Maritime Transport & Logistics Sector held a discussion session on the sidelines of the Smart Transport, Logistics and Transformation of Green Transport Exhibition and Conference, on Monday, November 8, 2021. And with the participation of Captain Tarek Shaheen, head of the Alexandria Port Authority, and Major General Walid Awad, head of the Damietta Port Authority, in the presence of Major General Hussein Al-Jaziri, head of the General Authority for Maritime Safety, and Eng. Medhat El-Kady, head of the International Transport Services Division at the Alexandria Navigation Chamber. Bahri, where the discussion session was opened by Major General Reda Ismail, Head of the Maritime Transport & Logistics Sector, and his Excellency addressed the issue of transforming Egypt into a global center for energy, trade and logistics at the regional, African and global levels. The development of the Egyptian maritime transport system, a presentation of the maritime agreements between Egypt and the countries of the world, and Captain Tariq Shaheen, head of the authority Alexandria Port, discussing the issue of enhancing Egyptian competitiveness in light of regional and global challenges, where he addressed the challenges facing Egyptian maritime transport and how to confront them. He presented the most important new projects in Alexandria Port, including the establishment of El Max Port on the entire front to reach the Great Port of Alexandria. Major General Walid Awad, head of the Damietta Port Authority, also addressed the issue of digital transformation in the maritime sector, which includes the methodology for preparing a digital transformation strategy based on the requirements that have been adopted in national policies, which is Egypt’s Vision 2030.
