This protocol comes as an implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between both parties in September 2024, which laid the foundation for joint cooperation in promoting integrity and transparency within the maritime community.
The Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN) is a leading global initiative working in partnership with the International Maritime Organization (IMO). It aims to promote a safe and transparent maritime business environment free from corruption, through cooperation with governments, ports, and the private sector. Its efforts have resulted in the successful implementation of best practices worldwide, improving business environments in ports across the globe.
This protocol crowns the ongoing cooperation between MTLS and MACN, aiming to develop training programs, build capacity, and support Egypt’s efforts to strengthen its position as a leading regional hub for maritime transport and logistics services.
