The decision of Taba port establishment is considered a leap in Sinai development and its linkage with regional and international markets , this what Dr. Amr ElSamadouni, secretary general of logistic and international sector/Cairo trade chamber has assured. Its strategic importance lies in its location on Aqaba bay where it can easily access Asia and Middle East markets.

 He also added that the port participates in supporting tourism in Egypt, especially maritime tourism in addition it enhances Egypt national security with regards to maritime boarders’ control. He also pointed out in Press releases that the capacity of the port will be according to international standards and similar to East Port Said port, with the possibility of enlargement in the presence of the big desert hinterland, also the project participates in supporting trade and tourism and converting Sinai into an economic fulcrum, in addition to its political and strategic importance especially in the light of Israeli attempts to find an alternative for the Suez Canal; through the project of Bin Ghorioon channel.

President Abd ElFattah ElSisi has issued a presidential decree number 35 for the year 2025 to allocate 52.5 Fadden in South Sinai for the sake of Red Sea General ports authority for Taba maritime port establishment. This project is a part of a comprehensive developmental plan that aims at improving Sinai infra- structure, hence participating in supporting economic and trade traffic.
