Project objective:

Project specifications:

The port of Gergaub includes specialized berths consisting of:

  • 1930 m of multi-purpose berths.
  • 1030 m of general cargo berths.
  • A 970 m container berth.

– Plans are underway to construct 14 km of new berths with a depth of 17 m and 7 km² of handling yards, for a total area of ​​10km².

– A massive development project on Egypt’s northwest coast (west of Marsa Matrouh) aims to establish a world-class commercial port and an integrated economic zone (industrial, logistical, and tourism) to serve trade between Europe and Africa and create significant job opportunities. The project includes the construction of docks, container terminals, logistics facilities, industrial and tourism infrastructure, and world-class hotels.

– In 2025, a presidential decree was issued establishing the Gergaub Economic Zone, designating it as a special economic zone with a total area of ​​approximately 402,196.68 Acers, equivalent to 1,689.5 km².
