<span;>Transport ministry is implementing super structure works through “Damietta Alliance” Co. that operates the terminal, where the terminal has received 12 berth crane up till now specialized to serve containers’ handling and which are considered of latest types of giant berth cranes all over the world; produced by Chinese (HHMC) company. And is expected that it will greatly participate in raising the efficiency and will rapid stevedoring process
<span;> Such giant cranes are of advanced technologies that meet the needs of giant vessels; of high elevating power, such giant cranes are capable of elevating heavy weights of giant vessels that might reach 75 tons, and also have the ability to reach high heights up to 57.5m above berth surface; suitable for dealing with giant vessels of 11 container height with outer winch arm 72m, hence participating in dealing with biggest width of such vessels.

<span;> They are also fitted with advanced safety systems as sensors, cameras and protection system to guarantee safety of individuals and operations whether on berth or vessel, in addition to integration with digital systems ; as such modern cranes support integration with smart ports administration systems,; hence allowing instant operations’ follow up and improving coordination between all operation departments and also such capabilities participate in making the port capable to deal with increasingly volume of container vessels accurately and rapidly. Thus positively reflecting on port operation span time and raises logistic operations efficiency.

<span;> Up till now 30electric yard winches have arrived ( RTG ) out of 40yard cranes of latest types that will arrive successively and are specialized for serving containers in the terminal’s handling yards; “Tahia Misr1” container terminal project has been implemented and fitted with modern ecofriendly equipment to assure usage of modern equipment and managing handling techniques that help in reducing carbon emission in accordance with Egypt vision 2030
<span;>“Tahia Misr1” container terminal project” at Damietta port is considered one of the most important projects existing in the port where the terminal berths length reaches about 1970m, berths’ depth reaching 18m and backyard of about 922 thousand m2, also handling capacity of about 3.5TEU . The project is in partnership with international “ Damietta Alliance” company which is an alliance between (Germany Eurojet, Italy Kontship and the global navigational line HAPAG Lloyds. The project implementation comes within the framework of transport ministry plan to attract biggest companies operating international navigational lines to invest in Egyptian ports and to participate in the terminal operation, also it comes amongst the ministry implementation of the comprehensive logistic channel ( Tanta/ Mansoura/ Damietta ) and which consists of ( Tanta logistic zone- Tanta Mansoura Damietta railway line – dry port at New Damietta- Damietta port).
