The Head of the Maritime Transport & Logistics Sector, inaugurated a workshop on enhancing knowledge of the practical aspects of marine accident investigations and analyses. The workshop is being held from June 15 to June 25 at the headquarters of the Maritime Transport & Logistics Sector, in cooperation with entities involved in the maritime transport and safety industry.
The workshop is organized in collaboration with NASSA Marine Survey Company, a specialized firm in marine inspections and accident investigations. It aims to strengthen knowledge of the practical aspects of marine accident investigations and analyses by providing an introduction to international maritime transport regulations (IMO: SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW), commercial ship assessment, evidence collection, and analysis of related navigational equipment recordings.
The workshop also includes a practical component, featuring real case studies and training on the Suez Canal Authority simulator.
This workshop is part of the Maritime Transport & Logistics Sector’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness and prevent maritime accidents, aiming to achieve the highest standards of safety and security in Egyptian maritime navigation.
