In a scene that reflects the volume of transformation that Egypt witnesses in the field of maritime transport and logistics services, East Port Said continues developmental work with strategic vision aiming at converting the region into a global center for trade and logistics; this is witnessed in a container terminal that leads to a great economic leap and allocating 500 million dollars for the establishment of container terminal2and also developing container terminal 1 to receive 4.5 million container annually.
Container terminal 1 is considered a leap in maritime transport and handling inside the port and is established on an area extending to 1.2 million square meter, its berth is of length 2400m, helping to receive biggest international vessels and providing with stevedoring services with highest efficiency standards..
The terminal annual capacity reaches about 4.5 million TEU, making it one of the biggest terminals in the region with regards to operational capability.
The volume of investments allocated for the project is milliard dollars, and this reflects the investors trust in the economic feasibility of East Port Said port, also the project provides with 1500 direct job opportunity; hence participating in activating local work market and enhancing economic growth at Port Said governorate.
And a new step in the same route is the currently implementation of the project’s container handling2 in the same port; this within the state’s plan to enlarge and develop Egyptian ports capabilities. And this terminal is a part of a comprehensive vision to update the infra-structure and raising the efficiency of logistic services in accordance with international standards. The terminal extends to an area of 510thousand square meter with a new berth 955 m, and it is designed for handling million TEU annually, thus opening new horizons in front of the increasingly trade traffic in the region.

Moreover, expected that the terminal will attract more international shipping lines and facilitates linkage between international markets through Suez Canal and hence reflects positively on national economy.
