Lieutenant general/ Kamel ElWazir , deputy prime minister and transport and industry minister has concluded his visit to KSA by visiting Islamic Jeddah port which  is considered the main port in Saudi Arabia on the Red Sea  that serves trade traffic and it also serves and receives pilgrims hajj  coming from all over the world and it is distinguished by its location on international navigational lines;  as it links between the three continents Asia, Europe and Africa and is of length 12.5km2 and includes 62berth, 4terminals and it includes comprehensive logistic services  whether handling equipment, warehouses, yards, vessels’ bunkering and direct transport system by trucks from and to the port; hence accelerating vessels’ rotation traffic

Moreover, during his tour the minister visited the port’s terminals starting  with container two handling terminals, and the comprehensive region represented in a logistic village for innovation and re-exporting and two general cargo terminals and two docks for repairing and maintaining maritime parts, maritime services berths from Qatar. This in addition to his visit to pilgrims reception halls that is fully equipped and also the terminal equipped for tourist vessels’ passengers “cruise” ; as Islamic Jeddah port is considered  the gateway for receiving and departure of cruise vessels in KSA due to its great important and its overlooking the Red Sea coast, also during the visit new navigational lines that are to be launched by Saudi Arabia, during current first half of the year, have been reviewed and they aim at increasing KSA ports linkage with east and west ports

 Deputy prime minister and transport and industry minister has also assured that there is a great importance for integration between seaports and maritime linkage between the two sides especially after the great development in maritime transport system in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, pointing to the great attention the Egyptian government gives to make a leap in maritime transport sector, where 3new ports have been established so that Egyptian ports will reach 18 port, also new berths and terminals have been established so that total berths lengths reach 100km and breakwater of length 50km, and deepening navigational channels; so that port’s sector become capable of receiving 40million TEU annually and 400million cargo tons.

 Transport sector has succeeded in attracting 6 biggest navigational lines and they are MSC , MEARSK  CMA CGM , HAPAG LOYED ,COSCO ,EVERGREEN and CMA and attracting biggest seven international operators; Hatshison, Eurojet, CMA TERMINALS, AB Moller, TIL, DP Dubai and Abu Dhabi ports, and this within the framework of the plan of converting Egypt into a regional center for transport, logistics and transit trade; implementing president Sisi, president of the republic, instructions.
