Maritime transport sector has participated with a highly ranked delegation in technical Cabinet meeting of Arab transport ministers in its 22 sessions; Joint meeting for technical committees of land, maritime and multipurpose transport which was held on Monday 30 September 2024 at Arab league headquarters.
The meeting was headed by admiral/ Tarek Abdallah, head of maritime transport sector, Dr. Bahgat Abu El Nasr, Arab league transport and tourism administration manager, with the attendance of senior representatives of transport ministers of 16 Arab countries and representatives of 4 specialized Arab Unions and organizations in the field of land and maritime transport. Also, the meeting was attended by Dr. Adel Eldesouky MT general manager, Dr. Wael Afifi PR manager and MS Basma Nabil from MTS side.
The meeting has discussed a group of important issues related to the development of transport and logistic sector in the Arab countries, including challenges that confront it. Here comes AAST pioneering role in providing with and preparing technical studies and in different transport and logistic fields which the meeting has dealt with and which are related to the tasks of the Arab Transport Ministers council.
The meeting has also witnessed exchange of different opinions and proposals concerning logistic services improvement mechanism and developing transport and logistics in the Arab region, this in addition to discussing future plans to facilitate trade and traffic between the Arab countries.
The meeting comes within the framework of reinforcing joint Arab cooperation and implementing Arab Transport Ministers council resolutions as a preparation for the provisions related with the council’s meeting in its 37 session and which is to be held in AAST headquarters within the period 12-14 November 2024.
