Ministry of transport has published details of Tahia Misr 2 multipurpose container terminal on berth 100 at Dekheila port, where the ministry has implemented a global container terminal with modern technology with biggest navigational line in the world on berth of length 1200m( of total length of berth 100 that is of length 1680m) , depth 18m, area reaching nearly 840thousand m2, and capacity reaching 1.5 million TEU annually, and the biggest part of which is transit containers so that Dekheila port will become one of the most important ports on the Mediterranean for such type of international trade.

The project provides with more than 2000direct and indirect job opportunity, and serves giant vessels of length 400m up to 24 thousand container, also contract has been signed for super- structure establishment, management, operation, exploitation and maintaining and redelivery of  container terminal on berth 100, between Alex port  general authority and the international alliance Hutchison MSC, this within the framework of implementing project of establishment of a comprehensive logistic Alex- Sukhna corridor for containers to link between the Red Sea and the Mediterranean.

The Egyptian ports have witnessed great developmental works that included  the development of already existing ports and establishment of new terminals and berths  with international specifications and depths so as to serve Egyptian economy and cope with vessels’ development, the developmental works include all ports, and amongst the ongoing projects is the establishment of Tahia Misr 2 multi-purpose terminal on berth 100 at Dekheila port and developing and accomplishment of  Sukhna port.
