Lieutenant general/ Osama Rabea, head of Suez Canal authority  has announced that reduction with 15% has been issued on container vessels crossing the canal with net tonnage 130 thousand ton or more ( loaded or unloaded) starting from Thursday and for 90 day, this to meet the needs of many clients from container vessels’ owners or operators and in order to encourage major navigational lines to return and cross from the canal in the light of what the Red Sea region witnesses from stability now. This what Rabea has mentioned during his reception of Italian ambassador Mikeli Kowaroni in Pilotage building at Ismailia to debate means of cooperation in different fields.

  Rabea has pointed out to the authority continuously seeking to cope with rapid variants in maritime transport industry and to deal ideally and flexibly with recent challenges in Red Sea region.

  He also declared that the authority is adopting an ambitious strategy to develop and update logistic maritime service system provided to its clients. And seeking for partnerships with major international companies in different maritime fields and looking forward to new dual cooperation with Italian companies working in the maritime field.

 From his side, Italian ambassador has assured existence of many joint extended heritage ties between the two countries and culturally also and seeking to activate bilateral relationships between the two countries  especially in maritime and economic fields; assuring his following up of the situation in Red Sea region within the light of what the canal represents from strategic importance for international trade traffic, and he praised the Egyptian exerted efforts to return stability in the region
