Application is made through the Maritime Transport Sector Services Portal when wishing to establish a specialized tourist port (tourist marina) and also when wishing to develop an existing marina, such as an extension of the current berths, an expansion of the marina, or any modifications within the marina, so that the Maritime Transport Sector can take the necessary measures to issue approvals. And permits from all concerned authorities, as well as reconciling the conditions of an existing marina and taking the necessary measures to issue a construction decision. An inspection of the marina site is also carried out, whether during the construction stages or after completion, and it continues on an ongoing basis, in preparation for licensing or renewing the current license when ensuring the suitability of the marina to operate in terms of maritime safety, the general condition of the marina, the extent of its efficiency, and the adequacy of the means of insurance against fires or marine pollution incidents… etc.) in accordance with the laws and decisions regulating the same matter. The submitted documents, design calculations and approvals for the establishment of a tourist marina are studied and presented to the Specialized Ports Committee and then presented to the Lieutenant General / Minister of Transport after studying them, whether for information or to take some action. The maritime transport sector is the body responsible for developing yacht tourism activity in Egypt by promoting this tourism around the world and also creating specialized electronic programs that in turn work to attract this type of tourism and work to develop ports and marinas to advance yacht tourism in Egypt. The entity wishing to “establish/adjust/develop” a specialized port (tourist marina) must apply to the maritime transport sector services portal – in its capacity as the competent authority – at the Ministry of Transport. | Service Type |
