Central Administration for Planning Affairs

The Planning Department which is specialized in the following:-

  1. Setting draft investment and production plans for the M.T.S. units according to the instructions of Finance and Planning Ministries, in the light of the policy of the Ministry of Transport on different activities for the annual plan, the long and medium-term plan.
  2. Gathering planning budgets projects of the M.T.S.
  3. Discussing the investment plan projects with the Finance and Planning Ministries in order to adopt them.
  4. Considering local and foreign funds required to finance the plan in Cooperation with Finance and Planning Ministries.
  5. Making the annual report on Performance appraisal of the M.T.S.
  6. Carrying out economic and technical studies on new adopted projects of the plan.
  7. Coordinating the needs of the sector and different Country bodies for Ports and shipping Services in order to satisfy these needs to face the increasing requirement in the foreign trade volume.
  8. Following up the implementation of the annual investment and production plans carried out by the sector and laying down the regulations required for this purpose.
  9. detecting problems and implementation difficulties, confronting them, presenting proposals to overcome them, and suggesting the development and modification of programs based on that.
  10. Receiving financial and technical reports from sector departments, collecting and analyzing data, comparing its results with what is mentioned in standard plans, dumping them into follow-up forms, preparing periodic and annual reports, and reporting them to the bodies in charge.
  11. Design and complete follow-up forms based on the records kept for this purpose in the sector and affiliated bodies.
  12. Evaluating projects and programs implemented by the sector periodically to identify the position of the affiliated agencies in implementing investment and production plans.
