Security General Administration
- Working on maintaining the country’s confidentialities and implement the set policy and directions in accordance with the verdicts of law and decisions allowed in this regard.
- Supervising, coordinating and cooperating with the different security systems to exchange information and consultation concerning national security affairs, administration control, civil defense, and fire and set the required security precautions for that.
- Planning for different security plans and projects in the units under the Maritime Transport sector.
- Participating and coordinating with the protective security system in the country to apply and supervise the laws set to use its rights in securing its borders, control the operation of entering individuals to it and traveling from it (Egyptian and foreigners), supervise the movement of exported and imported products and goods and deny the entrance of the prohibited materials.
- Supervising and coordinating on the security of the ports and lighthouses in the country and following-up the implementation of the security regulations concerning fire and rescuing.
- Supervising and guiding the determination of the confidentiality level of the documents and correspondence, the way of saving and protecting them against accidents, sabotage, robbery and photocopying and setting rules required for the security of letters and correspondence and facilitating the work in offices.
- Supervising the setting of training plans for rescuing groups, ambulances, fires, hideouts, shelters in the sector and supervising the implementation of this.
- Supervising equipping the alarm tools and exchanging assistance with the nearby bodies according to contacts and support of the civil defense individuals in the case of disasters and fires and the way of asking for assistance.
- Supervising the setting of necessary plans to insure the protection of individuals and buildings…etc from bombs and explosives, the ways of discovering and deactivating them and the ways of asking for assistance, informing and receiving it.
- The main plan for artificial security in the sector to set the full protection for workforce, production factors and used materials from work accidents and vocational diseases and providing medical, care and full health protection services as not for suffering to cause bad economical and social effects, which affects the country.
- Coordinating with the Workforce sector concerning the artificial security and trying to implement this in the sector .
- Setting the instructions of the artificial security in all the works in the sector and the ways of implementing it, taking into consideration the periodical implementation and inspection according to a specified program and writing the necessary reports in that.
- Setting the work process in the cases of accidents and first aid if accidents took place and monitoring equipping the units with the required equipments for that.
The general security administration consists of:
- Protective Security Administration.
- Civil Defense Administration.
Protective Security Administration
- Participating in setting and supervising the implementation of the necessary plans to secure individuals and issue the security instructions and security leaflets for individuals.
- Performing investigations on employees.
- Participating in setting and supervising the necessary plans to secure information.
- Supervising and planning concerning monitoring the ports and lighthouse security in the country in the Red Sea and Mediterranean in cooperation with other security system in the ports.
- Participating in setting the necessary plans for the security of the sector’s building.
- Participating in setting the necessary plans for the security.
Civil Defense Administration
- Supervising the collection and implementation of all the laws and ministerial decisions issued concerning the civil defense (Law no. 148 of the year 1959 concerning the civil defense and Law no. 20 of the year 1965, its amendments and interior sector’s decision no. 386 of the year 1970 to form civil defense committees in the work sites.)
- Participating and supervising the implementation of the plans of civil defense projects in the units under the sector.
- Participating and cooperating with the representatives of the civil defense institute in planning and organizing the civil defense plan and benefiting from exchanging the information with it.
- Supervising the setting of training plans for rescue groups, ambulances, fires, hideouts and shelters in the sector and its units and monitoring the implementation of this.
- Supervising the equipping of the alarm tools and exchange assistance with the nearby bodies and the speed of contacts and support through civil defense individuals in the cases of disasters and fire.
