Vessels traffic In Egyptian Port

13565 vessels arrived at the main Egyptian ports in 2004 compared with 11876 vessels in 2003 (a 14.2 % increase). This increase was due to the Egyptian ports endeavor to minimize the vessels dwell time until it reached 3.5 days in 2004 compared with the average of 3.9 days in 2003 ( a 10.3% reduction).

It is worth mentioning that this reduction in vessels dwell time was simultaneous with an 11.9% increase in the volume of handled cargoes and ongoing infrastructure development projects in the main ports especially in Alexandria and Damietta.

The average of vessels dwell time in the Egyptian ports
