Coastal Governorates

The development projects of the coastal governorates are being considered, adopted and established. Technical supervision is carried out in coordination with the relevant and competent bodies.


Nuclear Energy Authority (Nuclear Safety Department)- Faculty of Science - University of Alexandria (sea Sciences Department) - The Egyptian Authority for costs protection - the General Authority for Fish Wealth

Exchanging technical and scientific consultations concerning the issues related to ports, vessels, maritime labor as well as establishing Radiation Examination Centers in ports as a result of the MTS efforts in cooperation with the Nuclear Energy Authority.


Ports Security Administration

Cooperation & coordination are ongoing through the participation in the committees meetings or through the consideration of problems and projects from the security point of view.

The central Body for Organization and Administration:

  • Approving the first section budget draft (wages and salaries) before the approval of the Ministry of Finance as well as enhancing the first section items for MTS and the Egyptian Authority of Maritime Safety.
  • Adopting the organizational structure and the financing of employment degrees.
  • Adopting the training plan.

National Investment Bank

The bank will provide the necessary financing for the implementation of MTS investment plan according to the time schedule for the in-kind or monetary implementation.

The General Authority of Roads & Bridges:

According to the approval of the Ministry of Transport, the Egyptian port Authorities carries out a 2% discount on the 60% of the total overweight income of transport modes tonnage payable to the General Authority of Roads & Bridges. Then, this percentage is supplied to MTS and allocated to bonuses for its personnel. Moreover MTS cooperate with the General Authority of Roads & Bridges in the field of land transport issues related to Arab countries with which Egypt has concluded bilateral agreements.

General Authority of Governmental Printeries Affairs:

Publishing the laws and resolutions related to maritime transport (for the Egyptian ports - MTS - Egyptian Authority of Maritime Safety).

Customs:

MTS collects about 27.8 million L.E. per year from the following customs bodies: ( Suez - Alexandria - Port Said - Cairo ) which represents the maritime subsidy of port authorities to the presidential decree no. 399 for 1995.
