Navigation Chambers
(A) On 18/3/1999 the ministerial decree no.
30 was issued assigning the MTS with the supervision on the navigational chambers
in Egyptian ports:
- Alexandria Navigational Chamber.
- Port Said Navigational Chamber.
- Red Sea Navigational Chamber.
- Damietta Navigational Chamber.
* The decree also identified their competencies and resources.
The amended Ministerial Decree no. 85 for 1999 was issued for the establishment
of the board of directors of the 4 above mentioned navigational chambers. The Board
of Directors is composed of 7 elected members, 2 nominated and 2 experts for each
chamber.
(B) The Ministerial Decree no. 13 for 2000 was
issued for the establishment of the central navigational chamber in order to unify
the entity responsible of the correspondence with the International Association
for navigational chambers and other international bodies. Moreover, the decree aims
to coordinate between the Egyptian ports navigational chambers as well as the re-structuring
of the board of directors of the Central Navigational Chambers in the light of the
new structure of the navigational chambers.
