Mameesh: 23.9 milliard pound Suez Canal revenues in last quarter of 2017

Vice admiral/ Mohab Mameesh, head of Suez Canal authority said that the authority has achieved a growth during last months of current year 2017as from January up to October reaching 154.3%: where it achieved revenues during third quarter of 2017 of value 23.9 milliard pounds against 9.4 milliard pounds in similar quarter of fiscal year 2015/2016. He pointed out in special statements to “youm7” that increase in Canal revenues  as from start of current year comes simultaneous with recovery of international trade traffic; the authority’s following flexible marketing policies capable of attracting new navigational lines, stressing on keenness of the Canal authority not to be restricted to vessels’ crossing dues only and increasing revenues  through affiliated authority companies development plan and cooperation with international entities to adopt developmental projects in the region.

Mameesh has assured that the set plan, according to studies,  will lead to doubling revenues in the year 2030, pointing out that the Canal is totally linked with international trade traffic; the more the traffic increase  the more revenues increase and vice versa.  And this happened in the year 2016/2017; when China has decreased its foreign trade volume its revenues consequently decreased.
