The total number of vessels crossing the Suez Canal in 2006 has reached about 18664 vessels compared to 18193 vessels in 2005 (with an increase of 2.6% than last year), with a total net tonnage for 2006 estimated by 743 million tons compared to 672 million tons with an increase of 10.6% than last year.
