Number of Calling Vessels in Egyptian Main Ports

In 2005, the Egyptian main ports have received 16321 voyage vessels compared to 13565 voyage vessels in 2004 with a 20.3% increase more than the increase achieved in 2004 compared to 2003 (14.2%). The increase in the number of voyage vessels received by Egyptian ports was due to the Egyptian ports endeavor to minimize the general average vessels dwell time a year after another until it reached 3.5 days in 2004 and 2005. It is expected that the vessels dwell time rate in the port would minimize when applying the new loading and discharging rate in 2007.
